Turkey Drop from "WKRP in Cincinnati"
Thursday, November 22, 2007

Long before there was "Firefly", there was another short-lived TV show called "WKRP in Cincinnati". It was a hi-larious show about the radio biz in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Like the BDS, it was canceled before its time (it had a low-rated four season run), but not before giving one of the funniest Thanksgiving Day moments ever. In this scene, deejay Les Nessman reports on a Thanksgiving Day/station promotion that doesn't quiet work as well as planned.

(If you're wondering what happened in the video, the station manager thought turkeys could fly!)

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

SINGATE

WKRP had some of the best characters on TV. Les, Johnny, Venus, Herb were all so damn funny. Their boss was always so pitifully clueless, such a fun show.

REGINAROADIE

Never seen an ep of it, but I heard of this ep in particular. So glad it's on Youtube so that I can actually see it for myself. That was really funny.

Now if someone could YouTube the famous Mary Tyler Moore "You got spunk" moment and the "funeral for Chuckles the Clown", I'd be grateful.

SLUMMING

I have to say that WKRP in Cinncinnati was one of my top ten favorite shows of all time, with Firefly coming in at first place of course. ANd the Thanksgiving episode was hilarious. My favorite episode, though, was the one where Jennifer was made the executrix of the old millionaire's will! Remember that one? It was priceless. :D
