I think it should continue where the series left off, with maybe a happy ending this time? I watch the entire series every few months (call me obsessed) and I can't wait for the movie.

Yay! But I'm kinda peeved they aren't picking up where the show left off. I mean, how are they supposed to investigate non-alien stuff? They're EX-FBI agents! They're ON THE RUN!

Right on.

I haven't watched any X-FILES since it wrapped in 01, but I've still been waiting to hear if a sequel were to happen, so yay as well.

I know it's probably going to be a stand-alone thing that doesn't tie into the mythology of the series, but I wouldn't mind some pay-off at the very least to the series finale. Even if it's just a rushed, five minute exposition thing to get it out of the way before getting into the actual plot of the movie.
