Summertime and the livin is easy
Thursday, March 8, 2007

I live in the south. South of south. In the southern most southness of the south of Alabama. So I want you, dear reader to understand that when I tell you this I most definately mean NOT THE NORTH.

This is important for you see, in THE NORTH they have something called Winter. It comes in October and stays until it is kicked out in late April/May. Winter comes with its suitcase and settles in. It invites its good friends Ice Storm, Blizzard and Blinding cold. Sometimes they all visit at once.

Now in the South or BumFcensoreddEgypt as we like to call it, Winter does not visit. We have sent cards, and letters. One time we even sent a cablegram. But no Winter. He flys by sometimes but never lands - and thus we have Summer all year long. Sometimes Summer is tired and lets Winter breath on us a bit, but then Summer gets some rest and returns full force. This means temps in the 70 during the day and 30 in the night.

And this leads us to that lovely visitor PNUEMONIA, but that is for another day!

Hey! I love singing that song!

Sorry. I just got all excited about your blog title. But I really can't quite imagine what that kind of weather would be like. I imagine it sucks iduring true summer. See I'm from Michigan. You know. The North.

I have to say that your description of Winter sewems pretty accurate. Though it was a bit late in coming here this year. Fall stuck around till mid January with it's constant rain and temps in the 40s and 50s. Then one day, the temp dropped from 50 to -5. All in one night. It's been snow and cold ever since. Iwouldn't mind some 70 degree weather.

Not a big fan of temperate weather 365 days a year, I guess? Makes sense...much as snow can suck sometimes, it's nice to have delineated seasons to stop the nuttiness from setting in;)
