Writing Sucks!
Wednesday, October 4, 2006

You know... if it's not Word ignoring my ignore commands regarding Firefly speech, or writer's block, or my muse disappearing for parts unknown.... I have so many pieces of fanfics, and not a single one with a proper ending.

It's all so very frustrating!

Anyway... rant over. Just had to get that off my chest.

Do you have anyone you can bounce you ideas off of? Sometimes, just talking through it makes new ideas appear out of nowhere...

Good luck!

You're presence has been sorely missed around here, 'Ski;)

Definitely know the feeling about writer's block, though I got faith the muses will come back soon. Sides, absence only makes the heart grow fonder;)

It sounds more like NOT writing sucks!

I know it's frustrating and I'm sorry. I wish I could give you a good answer, but I've overcome writer's block in many different ways; no single thing works every time. Be patient with yourself.

The last time, I got so mad at management that I almost quit my job. Somewhere in the middle of dreaming of a new job, my imagination kicked in and I wrote like a crazy person for a week. I'm not saying you should try this! It's just funny how something seemingly unrelated can help. I wish you luck.

Same here. The last time I posted anything of my story was all the way back in May. That was before I got worn out by work (try spiking railroads in 30 degree heat for 13 hours a day for four months, the majority of which, you're driving all across your home province and sleeping in cheap motel rooms), and with school (I got so many things going on school wise, I shouldn't even be typing this).

But TamSibling has helped me out with some stuff that was slowing me down story-wise and hopefully Chapter 10 should be up soon.

Don't let it get you down. You'll get overwhelmed.

I've been fighting writer's block for a long, long time now. Imagine my frustration at writing nearly a CD's worth of well received fic only to have my muse beat a hasty retreat. My story is left hanging and there's nothing I can do about it.

Just don't post something just for the sake of posting. Think it out. It will come to you. Eventually. :-)

I hear you there!!

If I can help out, let me know. Anything to get that story back on track.
