I made a trip to Tennessee this last weekend to see my father, stepmother, brothers, nieces and nephew. To say it was strange is to say...well, it was strange.

Its a six hour trip. My children were unusually well behaved in the car, which is to say, they slept most of the way. My wife was busy this week, so it was just me and the kids...the first time I've undertook something that was just me and them. We had a blast! We all bought lightsabers (fwash-ights, per my two year old son) and a ton of candy! I brought my wife some souvenirs...Fun was had by all.

But, as you know, manwithpez can not remain happy for long, and this was no exception. Strong thunderstorms took place both on the way there, and back again. So, a six hour trip took about 7 and half hours. My kids and I got along very well, for the most part...There was a little dissension on the way home. My daughter became convinced that she only wanted to hear music that was "girly" (her word, not mine), meaning, she only wanted to hear female singers. I heard my son laughing in the back seat, turned around just as he started crying to see him vomit EVERYWHERE!(The only thing I had to clean it with...my Spider-Man pillow case...so long old friend!)

I did get to listen to several old radio dramas that I had been meaning to. Suspense rocks, for anyone out there who wants something fun and interesting to listen to, by the way.

My father found interesting ways to look down on me, but that's normal. Nothing new there. My brother (The one just younger than me, with three kids...the 28 year old) was nice without being condescending for once. And, hey...took up residence in a Cracker Barrel...Fun, fun fun.

Unfortunately, my wife and I got into a huge argument (we're still fighting, actually) not long after I got home. I had to ...she said somethin' bout my momma!

I did get to see Troy this weekend, and I loved it! Why didn't I go see this earlier! I'm off to buy that over lunch today!

I saw King Arthur...it was ooookay...I didn't really enjoy it that much.

Just once, I would like to have a vacation that actually feels like a vacation.

So I will be out of commision tomorrow and won't be on the tag. I will miss you all greatly but hopefully now I can play football without taking 4 pills to be able to walk the next day. . .

THATWEIRDGIRL

except for the spewing part...I'm glad you had fun with your kids. I always thought the drive to and from was much better than the actual place. Singing songs...playing the license plate game(the one time you were encouraged to hit the person sitting next to you)...eating junk food...fun.
