It's a crazy-quilt of infotainment that like to call a 'film', and it just may be the best one ever made. Or one of the ones in the middle. Probably not the worst... I'm thinking middle. High middle. So buckle up and get ready for that patented Joss Whedon "high-middle" excitment. It's on its way. -- Joss Whedon on Serenity

6ixStringJack: Is that coming in the bedroom with you too?
6ixStringJack: What do you mean by Victrola? Do you just mean a smallish record player on top of the night stand in the living room? My grandma had a full sized Victrola, so I'm sure that's not what you mean.
Brenda: No worries. The night stand is in the living room and I figure either phone repairman or another workman moved it closer to my trunk and I didn't notice it at first. Too used to stuff around me. The worry is the stuff between the night stand and my trunk. But yeah there should be no problem with the sliders.
6ixStringJack: Oh... Okay. I was wondering why moving the nightstand was even an issue other than worrying about dragging it a bit on the carpet. If the "victrola" isn't top heavy, still shouldn't be too much of a problem. Try those furniture pad sliders this time. If they're made right, you should have enough downward pressure on them that they're not constantly slipping out from under the thing as you push it back.
Brenda: And again the nightstand has stuff on it. Namely my Victrola and I don't want to move. Yeah, I know a running theme. That's why I bought the sliders. I am hoping when I get to moving that stand the sliders will do. Would have to get some cardboard and I will keep all of this in mind.
6ixStringJack: * (rotate on its "side", not size...). Kind of just tip it over 45 degrees and then scoot it over where you want it bit by bit. That should be easy after what you just did.
6ixStringJack: Night stand should be easy. You could probably just kind of rotate that on its size and get it back in there no problem. If you're worried about the carpet, you could just throw some cardboard or newspaper down where you're moving it and protect it well enough if the pads don't work out since it's "legless".
Brenda: I got one of those pillows with the arms and for right now that will do.
Brenda: That is my plan for today SIX. I measure the space and it is only about 5 inches now, so I should be able to find something and another pillow at least. Then I should be settled with that. It does feel good because that was really starting to hurt me. The night stand isn't such a rush though. So, I'm good with that. Don't worry about the picture sometimes my brain just needs a reboot.
6ixStringJack: Now I hope you got yourself some good pillows and back support and you should be good to go. I'm glad the picture made enough sense of it. I was visualizing the process in my head, but I wasn't putting it to words the right way and I kind of knew I wasn't getting the point across right. I think the first picture I put up would have been just as confusing, but looks like we're good now. Gotta feel good having that done finally.
Brenda: My neck was pretty happy this morning and it will be happier when I get something for that spot. I think I found something but I need to measure the area. It's one of those pillows with the arms on it.
Brenda: I figured it was get them while they were in front of me. The sliders I mean. Also I have been doing things like this for a long time on my own. It just gets tiring at times. I am getting old here. With the night stand I'm not worried about the carpet but I don't want to damage it. I've got neighbours upstairs that for a week, I swear were constantly dragging chairs all over the floor. I figure they must have had the carpet removed. Bout drove me buggy.
Brenda: I know. Get me frustrated enough and I will get off my butt and finish the job. Yeah, sometimes I need a picture to understand things a little better.
6ixStringJack: Your neck is going to be so happy with you now.
6ixStringJack: Good that you picked up those sliders. You won't use them much probably, but when you need them they're really nice to have. I've got them in my house to protect the hardwood floors if I want to move something myself. Part of the reason I needed to restore those was the previous owners just dragged everything and gouged the floors and covered it all with carpet.
6ixStringJack: I figured you had it in you and we just needed to get the stuff moved in a way that it could be separated enough and it would be managable for you. Happy that I took the time to make that pic last night because I knew after describing the process twice that I probably wasn't getting across what I was saying you needed to do. I even changed that picture 2 or 3 times because I thought it was still unclear.

Brenda: Unfortunately the night stand doesn't have legs. Oh, I find furniture sliders after I get the bed moved. Isn't that always the way. I went into one of those little stores that sell everything but the kitchen sink and found them. I bought them incase I have to do something like again or for the night stand.
Brenda: I know. It was so great to get the bed where I want it. Now to just fill in the space so I can sit up if I want. Should add I had to put a bit of shoulder into it to lift the legs but I got 'er done.
6ixStringJack: The plate thing should work for you on the night stand too. But if it's one of those that doesn't have legs it may slide off the plates a few times while you're pushing it so you might have to put the plates under there a few times, but you'll get 'er there eventually. Glad to hear you finally got the bed where you wanted it.
