Picked up my S:AAB DVDs. Kinda Pissed
Monday, September 12, 2005

The first episode was great, you got to love that the 58th's drill sergeant was the guy from Full Metal Jacket. But after the opening credits on the second episode the video and audio froze then the screen went black with green text telling me that the disk needs cleaning or is scratched. I look closely at the disk and there is a bunch of pinprick sized air bubbles in the disk. Shitty copies figures! Well I’m going to watch all the disks to make sure they are good then go back to Best Buy to exchange the bad disk, and I’m going to visually check the disks in store because this sucks.

Oh before I forget on the DVD menus they have the Babylon 5 station on the left hand side. WTF?

Um... stupid question: how does one edit one's comments? Don't the regular formatting commands work (my typed square brackets were transformed into angle brackets).

Ditto! On my set, the pixellation and audio drop outs started at 8:40 into the 2nd ep and lasted to past 30:00.

It really bugs me that they made all the discs double-sided. It's really annoying that even the discs that only have four episodes, are pressed two per side. If they wanted to save one disc (5 instead of the logical 6 single sided), why didn't the just make it one double sided, and the rest single? It's particularly annoying, because at least one more disc is flakey, though not as bad as the 2nd ep's pixellation.

Oh...
..."one more thing. It's okay to be scared."
