I NEED SOME BC INPUT

Monday, September 12, 2005 4:01:46 PM

This is not Firefly related but I would like some input/advice/reality check or whatever.

I have been having issues with my downstairs neighbor for the last three months or so and i wanted an relatively unbiased opinion. (i know that not having the other side of the story means that a true unbiased opinion is impossible.)

Anyways, I moved into my apartment June 2004 my neighbor moved in June 2005. Over the last three or so months she has been complaining of noise. I don't think i am making excessive noise. The only thing i can think of that would make any noise at night are my two cats. They like to play at night. (They are relatively small cats, one weighs 6# the other about 10#) I can't imagine them making all that much noise downstairs.

My neighbor and I have talked and she told me that she has Fibromyalgia and that she has trouble sleeping. Okay, fine, I understand that but why on earth if you have this condition would you choose to live in a second floor apartment?

So I play the nice neighbor and try to make things quieter, to the point of me sleeping on my couch most nights to entice the cats to play more in that area. It's starting to get old.

She has also told me about the guy below her that blares his TV all night long, but "that's okay because he's like 80 years old and deserves to play his tv that loud." Later i got a different story which was that he was an asshole to her about it and she just doesn't want to deal with him. So i'm about to become a raging bitch to her to see if she'll leave me alone too.

The real kicker was this morning. I got up to get ready for work at 5:30am, which means taking a shower and leaving. Not long after I start up the shower, she's throwing shit at her ceiling. (which she's done all along when she thinks i'm making to much noise. I'd hate to see her ceiling.) I'm sorry, i don't think taking a shower falls under excessive noise but i think throwing things at the ceiling does.

I'm just at the point where this is going to be my reaction to her next time:

This post probably didn't make much sense and i know i forgot a lot, but i'm just failing to see where her condition(part of which is being hypersensitive to noise) is my problem and I'm tired of her trying to make it my problem.
