Another good episode - they are getting the mix of drama and comedy about right, and the relationship between Rose and the Doctor works rather well - they also seem to be upping the "scary" quotient.

Simon Pegg was suprisingly good as The Editor as well - I wonder if he might not do some straight drama roles soon, given that he was pretty good at that in Shaun of the Dead as well.

I'm ashamed to admit I haven't been watching it.

I meant to, but it's on opposite NCIS, and by the time I found out about it we were already about three weeks in.

I will track down either the reruns or the DVDs though, 'cause I just found out why the girl looks so familiar. It's Billie Piper! I have a couple of her CDs (one of them is the first non-soundtrack CD I ever bought, and not just 'cause I had a crush on her in high school ). I always wondered whatever happened to her, she's got a great voice.

I've never seen Dr. Who, but The Fresh Pegg is the cat's pajamas.

Posts you may regret #37 - complementing Ms Piper's musical ability

SIMONWHO

Just watched it now, Simon was really good and as the documentary afterwards said "Imagine the episode without him". That wouldn't have been so good but this was the "rest" episode for Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper so it was bound to suffer from that.

Miss the new series of Doctor Who? For NCIS? Do you want me to fetch a policeman?

Is that what that big blue call-box is for.

As I said, I missed the first few weeks, and I loathe coming into a series in media res. They were in the middle of that big alien invasion plotline when I found out about it. This week's ep had the Dalek, and the ending few minutes that I saw seemed to break off cleanly, so I'll jump in next week and hope not to be too lost.

Still be recording NCIS, though.

If you're in the UK, the DVDs for the first few episodes go on sale on Monday. There's no real ongoing arc but the episodes do touch upon each other. More like Firefly than Babylon 5 in that respect.

Sadly I'm in Canada, which means we have to wait for the American DVDs. Then we have to wait a few months and pay several hundred dollars for them.
