WonderCon 2005

Feb 18-20th

The San Francisco, Sacramento & San Jose Browncoats (along with a good number of out-of-towners) are working together to host a fan table at WonderCon. Our table is #F11, located in the Artists’ Alley, near the entrance to the gaming area. The table will be up and running during all open hours of the convention.

At our table we will be handing out all sorts of flyers, selling Blue Sun tattoos & Firefly patches, and collecting money for the Red Cross to benefit the tsunami victims. We will also be signing folks up for our prize giveaway. Entry in the drawing is free, but we are encouraging participants to make a donation of $5 (or whatever you can spare) to the Red Cross. 100% of all money collected is going directly to the Red Cross.

Here is the most current list of prizes we will be giving away, but who knows what we may find/get autographed at the con itself. ;)

On Saturday Feb. 19th, Joss, Nathan, Adam & Summer will be appearing at 1:00pm. Please feel free to use our table as a meeting point to find other Browncoats, and to get the latest updates on any last minute changes from WonderCon. Most of our group will be wearing brown “Browncoat Staff” tshirts, so if you spot us at the con, say hi!

After the presentation wraps up, stop by our meeting room (#113) from 3-7pm. We will be screening Firefly eps, as well as catching up with our fellow Browncoats. All of the prizes for our drawing will be on display in the room, and if they inspire you to get a last minute ticket, well we’ll have those on hand too. At 6:15pm we will begin the official drawing for the winners of our prize giveaway.

The convention closes for general purposes at 7pm, although there are quite a number of after hour activities scheduled, including a masquerade. But you’ll probably want to head over to the big, bad Shindig starting at 9pm. This is *not* on the convention premises. The party is being hosted by Café Murano, which will be closed for our private party – Browncoats only! There will be music, munchies, and a cash bar.

Sunday, we will be hosting our fan table as usual, and then wrapping things up.

Make sure you bring a camera to the event, as the Serenity site is giving out 600 points to anyone who can prove they were there, plus we will want to share as many pics as possible with all those who couldn’t be there.

Thanks to everyone who has helped out, and we all look forward to meeting lots of fellow Firefly fans.
