Just wanted to point out that it looks like we get another flashback from River's childhood during the BDM. I was looking at the cast list at Internet Movie Database and Hunter Ansley Wryn is featured as Young River Tam. It's not the same girl as in Safe, but she's also played young Piper in an episode of Charmed.

I was watching Safe today and I question I've had for a while is how much do Mrs. and Mr. Tam know about the school that they sent River? I find it hard to believe that they would keep her there it they had any knowledge of the government hurting her, but we're they just completely blind? They didn't want to believe that River was getting hurt therefore they thought Simon was just completely insane for pushing the issue so hard.

I just have to question it because when you have siblings that are that close together you almost have to trust the other's insticts when they feel something is wrong with the other. The parents make a point of how important being a doctor is to him, so how scared does Simon have to be to put that in risk? Simon's normally a pretty level headed person. You would think that the parents would at least check up on her, visit her for a bit. Which makes me wonder if they are hiding something.
