BRENDA

He was the oldest person to win an Oscar at age 82. Best known picture was "The Sound of Music"

We sci-fi fans remember him from "Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country" as he quoted Shakespeare to Admiral Kirk.

When Youtube first popped, one of the very first things I looked up was him singing. I used to replay those sections of tape of that 5 or 6 times every time I watched SofMusic.

Went from a fall and a knock on the head, at least it wasn't from some of the horrible things most of the actors of his generation have, like dementia, or ALS, ect. Years bedridden. Shudder.

Undiscovered Country has always been my favorite Trek, mostly because of him. It was the most theatrical one, and although his casting was a bit odd, I doubt anyone else could have done it better.

They just don't make guys that look like or sound like that anymore.

An admitted guilty pleasure of mine is 1980's "Somewhere In Time", where Christopher Plummer played a terrific villain as Jane Seymour's manager. Funny thing is his ominous visions of the future were all too true. R.I.P.
