Nah. It's not for real.

I was going to say that I hope whoever is pledging is checking out whether or not the goal was a flexible one or not, because many Kickstarter scams out there that had flexible goals just ran away with whatever money was donated never to be heard of again.

They're not even dealing with real money. The site right now says that there has been over $49 million pledged. This isn't even actual credit card payments or anything. You're not required to enter any personal information or financial info other than your email address and the amount you pledge. The website says:

UPDATE: Total amount of Monopoly money pledged for the TLJ remake is up to $368,296,790!!!!

Bummer... I didn't actually post what the exact number was when I had originally replied to the thread. It was $48 million and some change.

I wonder how many people signed up for 20 or 30 throw away email accounts so they could pledge $10,000 a crack? At least I'm assuming that their system isn't going to let you just spam 10k pledges over and over again from the same account anyhow. But they might...

A remake is wishful thinking on the part of the fandom, they're really upset about the abortion that is "The Last Jedi". Can episode 9 be saved?
