I haven't been on this site in a long, long time, so please forgive me if I speak out of turn, say the wrong thing, step on toes, etc.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so it goes here for now. I've been working for a short while on simulating the 'Verse in Celestia, a space simulator for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.

The base install of Celestia has our solar system plus many near and faraway stars and some extrasolar planets. Using "The Verse in Numbers" version 2.1, I'm working on adding the "34 Tauri (2020)" system, with its five suns, seven (?) protosuns, and scores of planets, moons and gas giants.

So far all I've got is the various stars, protosuns, planets and moons in basic circular orbits, no inclination, no textures (except for the gas giants). But at least it lets you look at how far things are from one another.

The files are on GitHub at https://github.com/goltz20707/celestia-verse. The short instructions are: install Celestia, copy the *.stc and *.ssc files into /extras, start up Celestia, and go to the object named "White Sun".

As you might guess from the fact it's on GitHub, I'm interested in collaborators. Lots of work is still needed -- custom textures, more realistic (less ideal) orbits, eventually maybe even some city locations on a few of the worlds, based on "Atlas of the 'Verse Vol. 1" from QMx.
