Are there any Space Cases Easter eggs in Firefly?

I just watched a couple episodes of Space Cases, probably for the first time since it was originally on the air. I had remembered Catalina as Jewel Staite, but I thought that was a false memory, inserted just because I wanted it to be her. What a shock that it actually was!

Is anyone aware of any Space Cases Easter eggs in Firefly? IMDB claims that the Operative going into a chute during the Reaver fight in Serenity is supposed to be mimicking the chutes on the Christa, but I'm not sure I buy it. Catalina wears rainbow colors a lot. so I wondered if Kaylee's parasol from the pilot might be referencing something, but I'm not sure I'm willing to sit through two seasons of Space Cases, hoping for it.

I'm not sure. The only easter eggs in Firefly that I know of are the Star Wars ones. The Imperial Shuttle on Persephone and Han Solo In Carbonite next to Kaylee's hammock. I can ask her at comic con this year if you want though!

Now you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal I swear by my pretty floral bonnet I will end you.

Yeah! If you think she'd be open to a question like that, I'd love to know the answer.

Maybe even just the fact that Jewel Staite is the ship mechanic could be considered an easter egg. One of the episodes also has a character called "Reaver.'
