Tomorrow (Sun) has been teased the airing of Hedy Lamarr's life story, from Nude actress (what today would be called soft-porn, simulated orgasm, but in 1933 was banned) to Co-patent owner of Spread Spectrun Technology, or Long Term Evolution used for Cellphones, smart phones, wireless connections.

I think it is on PBS.

At the time, it would have been Science Fiction. Or used as a Star Trek Communicator.

I saw that, or at least watched for a few minutes, about her and the idea of how jam radio controlled torpedoes ? I was like ' huh ?? '. Forget what show it was, but man, it was interesting. I'd forgotten all about that.

Spread Spectrum Broadcast.
Electronic version of cryptology. If the sender and receiver of a coded message, either in paper of electronic form, know the decode key, then they, and they alone, can decode the message in real time. The radio Transmitter and Receiver both change frequencies at the same time, with the same duration, and outside interference becomes difficult. This would be secure Radio coded communications, which in WWII could be used to have exclusive communications with a torpedo until it reached it's target.
Of course, the U.S. Navy in all it's wisodm did not want to have such a useful weapon.
