Havent seen me here for a wile, mainly kuz I wuz bizzy working on a new font for all you goram Browncoats!

I thot the typeface used in the movie was too pervasive to be just artwork. Turnz out its called Papyrus and wuz made by Gesselte and Microsoft in 1997. You can find fonts called Serenity Firefly, but they are really Papyrus that sumwun renamed.

It iz uv course a Nooalf font, so I had to make many completely new letterz. Plus I made some of the common special symbolz, such az copyrite, TM, forin currency. How you access thoze variez with differnt software.

A big part uv why it took so long iz bekuz the software to make fonts iz very complicated and full uv bugz. I spent 2 or 3 weeks just doing the kerning (space between letterz) and then it woudnt show up! Finally manajd to trick it into working this morning.

Linux? No. Unless you know sumthing I dont.

I tried Linux a few timez and it totally failed. You hav to be much more uv a computer nerd than I am to make it work.

Discovered sumthing interesting today.

Sum browzerz dont pass along kerning info!!!!! So if you see 'AV', 'AT', 'AY' or other letter pairz spred way apart on a webpaje or in your email, thats why.

I wuz simmering kuz I thot the Fontlab software had goofed up agen, then a real font pro told me about the browzer problem. I then tried the above letter pairz in Ariel and suprize! No kerning!

Yeah, Serenity font. The only time geeky graphologists are okay with Papyrus. Heh.

I think the kerning issues were intended as a feature, which is why so many of them look down on it. I think only comic sans catches more flak.

I'm starting to think it woud be eazier to make a new format than it iz to deal with all the gosa uv the existing system.
