The Help - Best Picture

George Clooney - Best Actor

Glenn Close - Best Actress

Christopher Plummer- Best Sup, Actor

Octavia Spencer - Best Sup, Actress

Martin Scorsese - Best Director

All these picks are not all the people I'd like to see win, they're the ones I think WILL win.

As for all the other categories I don't care.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

It has been a long time since I cared about any awards, most especially the Oscars. However, this year I was pleased that my favorite film got the most nominations.

Here's what I think will win: Picture: The Artist Director: Michel Hazanavicius Actor: Jean Dujardin Actress: Viola Davis Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer Supporting Actress: Octavia Spencer

Here's what I want to win: Picture: Hugo Director: Martin Scorcese Actor: George Clooney Actress: Michelle Williams Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer (actually, Ben Kingsley for Hugo, but he wasn't even nominated) Supporting Actress: Bérénice Bejo

I got 2 and the show sucked. But yet it got just over 39 million viewers.....WHY!?

At least it didn't drag on for four and a half hours like some years did..

I wanted Viola Davis to win. She was brilliant and Meryl already has a couple.

Nice to see that I'm not the only one who wanted Michelle to win. The only consolation is that with her talent she'll definitely be up for an Oscar again at some point. I am also very glad that Hugo got so many nominations but I never expected it to win any of the major categories even if it did clean up in the technical ones. I haven't seen The Artist yet but from what I've read it it probably deserves it's awards.

I did my usual thing of recording it and skipping through it on fast forward to the bits I was interested in. The ceremony itself was boring (surprise!) but much better than last year (that isn't saying much) and it was all played pretty safe. Billy Crystals jokes were flat and most times only a small portion of the audience laughed, realised no one else found it funny and nervously went quiet. Billy was then left hanging with a stupid grin on his face because he expected a bigger reaction. He used to be really funny but he's past his sell-by-date, they should put him out to pasture and get somebody new who is genuinely funny.

I was wrong on only one that I said would win, and right on only one that I said I wanted to win.

I have only seen about half of The Artist, since the projection bulb went out when I went to see it the week before last. Then it was not held over for another week, but since it won it will be back on the screen starting Friday.

From what I did see of it, I'm still of the opinion that Hugo should have been named Best Picture.
