Does anyone know if the symbol punched into the food supplements in the epi. "Serenity" is the symbol of the Alliance?

That's the general impression (oops, pardon the pun with "imprinted goods").

You can see the Chinese characters for "alliance" (tongmeng) in the middle. They're upside-down the way Mal turns the brick over.

There are some graphics of the symbol posted in the Blue Sun Room of this site.

My site shows some other places you'll see "tongmeng" in the show.
