So, I'm watching this thing, hoping it's not a complete waste of time. Early on, it looked promising. A competent team, taking sober, objective looks into reports of the unusual and strange.

( They've already given us the Ghosthunters fiasco, so I kinda knew things could get stupid, real quick.)

However, it starts out on a promising note.

They do a fairly good job in re-creating an alleged UFO on video, which supposedly also shows an actual dead alien.

But then the team jets off for Australia, and the barrier reef. Objective ? To hunt down a 'real' mermaid.

I kid you not.

The blurry, under water vid was taken 'somewhere' along the barrier reef, shows 'something' swimming away from the camera. Right off, I can tell it's a person in a mermaid suit. The tail fin resembles something one might see at an underwater show at SeaWorld, and was clearly just a prop. Why ? Because it was far too limp and flimsy to be a functioning tail fin! I could see that right off the bat,and I'm no expert on aquatic animals and how they move. But seriously, THIS is what they passed off as 'evidence' ?

So, the entire show packs up, flies down under, rents a boat, hauls along cameras and what not, and then they all get to go scuba diving, off the barrier reef.

If you think I'm just jealous that these clowns got an all expensed paid vacation for the bogus excuse of "it's for work, and oh yeah, they're getting PAID to do this.. " , then you're right.

And it was ridiculous, as well.

WHOZIT

I saw 2 episodes, it's a combo of "Mythbusters" and all those lame goast hunter shows. Unless they plan on blowing up some cars I have no plans on watching any more episodes.

And the thing is, I dig Mythbusters! Sure, they'll go far afield in some of their methods, but hell, they do love to blow stuff up. And that's a very good thing.
