I don't know if you all have done this or not. since i've been coming here people have kindly shared skills and knowledge so I thought I'd give you an idea of what I can doin case you want to tap into it, and invite others to do the same if they feel like it.
I'm crafty and do leatherwork, feltwork, jewellery making with beads, gems, and wire, Leatherwork and have used a wide variety of assorted textiles (Alas i do not sew clothing...I don't have the patience). I've spent the best part of 20 years working with kids in before and after school care,vacation care and respite care, so I know a fair bit about how to create,organise and implement activities and keeping them stimulated. I also have a lot of experience with effective behaviour management particularly with young folks aged 6-16. I've had extensive experience with special needs kids and their families and including them into "mainstream" kids programmes.
I've nearly finnished a degree in Speech Pathology which has included practical experience in community health and Hospital settings as well as schools. I'm a novice but am told by those in the know I'm ready to enter into the field particularly when it comes to helping out kids and teens with speech and language difficulty...so that's what i can help with if you ever need any in these areas.
