I'm a fan of the show, and my blu-ray version is on its way to me now :)

i want to get the graphic novels that accompany the show to, but am unsure of what versions exactly i need as i read some were compiled into new versions :S

am i right in thinking that hardcover versions of better days and those left behind, the hardcover version is the definitive version? so i just need to look for hardcovers?

thanks for any help/info on the matter

also i'm uk based, so if anyone could recommend any uk sites or shops, even more awesome :D cheers for your time

ps sorry for making another thread, just i am quite eager to buy the books so i can continue enjoying the show

Don't know how they're distributed in the UK, but the usual process for these seems to be "individual issues -> hardcover trade -> softcover trade." The softback is just the normal collection in a cheaper form, so you can grab that if it's available.

I know "Those Left Behind" is out in paperback (in Canada at least), so "Better Days" should be along shortly.

"Float Out" is a one-shot, so just grab the issue itself. AFAIK, "The Other Half" has never been printed in dead-tree form, so you'll have to find it online (I, uh, don't have a working link right now).

hi, thanks for the info guys. i'm abou to buy the hardcover version of those left behind, i prefer hardcover to paperback. and i found it on two different sites, same ibm number. yet they have two different covers, one is blue, one is sandy brown. is there any reason why the same book would have two different covers?

Blue is softcover. Brown is hardcover. Different covers, but same content.

Edited to add: The hardcover does indeed contain some extra artwork, my mistake.

so these sites have just placed the wrong image on the book then? they both state they are hardback, yet have the blue image, from the paperback.

do you know anywhere in the uk that would sell the second novel in hardback? i can only see it on american amazon.com

I'm in the UK as well and after a quick search I couldn't see BD available in hardback but TLB was.

You could keep an eye out on:

www.amazon.co.uk
www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk
www.waterstones.com

Although having ordered a lot from the US over the years, and if you definitely want hardback, you'll probably find it easier, quicker and cheaper to buy it from the US. If you just order one book it'll keep the cost low enough that you won't pay import duty.
I've ordered books, DVDs and Blu-rays from abroad for many years and I think I've only ever paid duty twice and one of them was because I asked for all the items to ship together to reduce shipping costs but ended up paying more in duty.

Per TFAW:
* Sporting a new cover by Adam Hughes, this oversized collection shows off the work of penciller Will Conrad and colorist Laura Martin, and the array of pinups by phenomenal guest artists. In addition, over a dozen backup pages delve into the work and art behind the scenes-original material assembled especially for this hardcover edition.
