I don't keep up with all the buzz but I recognized Chiwetel Ejiofor's(the Operative) right away.

2012 has two story lines, one that revolves around John Cusak and the other that revolves around Chiwetel.

Somewhat predictable and straight forward but at least the cause of the destruction was not caused by Humans. Pretty damned good CGI.
