This is a little off the beaten quirky path but if you have a fondness for historical science and steampunk this is quite the awesome little webcomic series.

Written and drawn by a British animator named Sydney Padua, Babbage and Lovelace follows Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace, real scientists who contributed to the inventing of the first computers (then called an engine). Done in black and white and highly satyrical she posts footnotes at the bottom of each post to delve into the historical accurateness of the hilarity that Babbage and Lovelace produce and encounter. Funny and educational at the same time!
