So, the odd little things that float through the head while trying to fall asleep at night, Obscure spoilers ahead:

1. river's russian nesting dolls (matryoshka): one of the few times she is show actually "doing" anything, by TV standards. The drawing, pronounced "quite good" by Simon if I remember right...symbolism with layers or am I just reading into this? EVERYTHING with her is symbolic.

Random out there idea: River clearly denies/defies MPD ("am I speaking to 'Miranda' now?"--'you are a boob' look)--but hypnotically "conditioned" experimentees can have similar developed "alters"--essentially different states or even personalities that can be triggered.
As Seen On TV at the Maidenhead. It's "that" part of river that does the uncontrollable violence.
How exactly she's accessing it (under this theory anyway) by force of will by the Reaverdance scene is up for debate.

2. "Mal. Bad, in the Latin." The funny, funny, funny part is that "Mal" comes from "Malus", meaning bad, yes, but also two other related and specific things: apple ("malus") and evil, sin("malus").
I guess Mal's sin is sin....fan of all seven no kidding...

3. Is it a directorial thing that Zoe is always just out of frame when on-scene(unless interacting with Wash)? ("Just so she could get behind you...")
