Police officers and the New York Fire Department’s hazardous materials team were called to the office of the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday to investigate several envelopes filled with white powder which had been sent to senior executives of Dow Jones, the newspaper’s publisher.... She described the letters as being white, standard-sized business envelopes with postmarks from different addresses in Tennessee. Three executives received the envelopes while the other 10 were found in the mail room. Mr Murdoch was not in the building at the time. Reuters, the New York Times and some financial institutions received similar envelopes in October.
