Now is the time to start producing our own theatrical productions of Firefly, using the great fanfic scripts.

Then videotape the screenplays for broadcast on cable access, youtube, google video. etc. Star Wars fans have been doing this for years, including homebrew 3D CGI SFX.

If any Browncoats in East TN want to do this, I'll videotape for broadcast on my weekly TV show.

I'm very good at shaky camera FX, out of focus shots, lens flare, as required by the Joss Whedon School of Filmmaking.

I'm pretty sure I've heard of some Firefly films being made by fans out there. I know Bellflower is one.

I'm working on one as well. It's all CG, kind of along the lines of the new Beowulf movie....but no where near as realistic looking. It's taking a long time too because I'm doing everything, with the exception of the voice work, myself.

But, slowley but surely, it's geting done. Of course...if there were any artists out there that would like to give me a hand...I'd find something for you to do. :wink:

Who writes fanfic as a screenplay?

CG looks like Autocad from Hell.

the star wars ones have ended up all over the net not just youtube and that, but divx and - hell, you know the kind of portals of the damned i'm talking about;)

but check out the 'sci-fi meshes' site if you start to thinking people can't make blistering effects on their lonesome - i was stunned.

Yeah, that's amazing homebrew scifi. Vancuver is the Hollywood of the Great White North. Too bad they hit a delay on their cockpit set.

I'm producing a DVD documentary on the local motorcycle cult scene, which also hit delays. It's better to delay and do it right, than cut too many corners. The economy is not conducive to business investments, since there's no leftover profit to invest.

Our local community tech college now has 3D animation classes that look like fun.

Problem is I must retake 4 years of high school math to take any college classes in TN. And cutbacks killed the remedial math classes. And the gorram feds stole my shuttles. So I'm out of gas.

So I just do a heck of a lot of video editing, and shoot a little video, preferably stunt video. I've made a pretty cool gunstock videocam mount (for less shake), mobile cams and mounts (might shake the camera to death), and a shiny new tripod with fluid mount (for smooth pans). Won 2 awards in Hollywood so far. It's all in who ya know!

No acting skills, except in mock court, real courts and dozens of traffic stops. Which is a lot like being boarded by the Alliance.

I've written several fanfics as screenplays. Check out "Shadow of Doubt" and my "Lost Conversations" series. I use Final Draft screenwriting software. I've been doing if for about ten years now and even had one movie made for Direct to video/DVD.
