Episodes for Conversion?

I am having an introduction to Firefly viewing this weekend with friends who have never seen a Firefly episode; I am expecting to convert them to fans. I was looking for advice on which two episodes you would choose to show for this purpose. I am going to start with Serenity for sure, and though I believe in watching the episodes in order, I don’t feel Train Job was among the best episodes (although there is no bad episode of Firefly) and am looking for another ep that stands alone for continuity and would work better for my purposes to assure that they will want to put in the time to watch the entire series. I look forward to any suggestions you may have, even if it is to just show them as they were meant to be seen, in order.

If Serenity doesn't do it by itself, stick 'Our Mrs. Reynolds' on them. It's one of the funniest episodes. I would also say 'Out of Gas', but I think that one has more impact after you get to know and love the crew.

If your friends don't mind a high body count, I would recommend 'War Stories'. It really shows how much of a team/family the crew are, and I think it will make a new viewer want to see how they got there.

war stories and out of gas i think are episodes for after you love the crew...i would stick with serenity, train job, and shindig

I did the same thing with some friends of my wife.
Started to wonder what ep to play.
Took the obvious route... played them in order

Went over great. They came back three days later and in two sittings we are up to war stories. Sunday we will complete the series.

One gal went out to buy the DVDs after she seen Out of Gas. wiping the tears from her eyes. Can't wait to see her reaction to The Message.
