SoCal Diamond Ranch High School Shindig & Picnic - Now with photos

Here is the information for the Diamond Ranch High School Shindig and Picnic

When: February 17th - Noon until ?

Where: Diamond Ranch High School and English Springs Park

We will be meeting near the large cement sign in front of the high school.

What: We will walk around Diamond Ranch and try to find all the filming spots from the Miranda scenes in Serenity. At 1 PM we will gather for a group picture at the cement sign out front. The actual picture place will be determined at that time. After the group picture we will start heading over to the park for the picnic. You can choose to look around more or go to the park.

How: There have been requests for carpools, so if you can please let others know if you can offer rides or need one yourself. There is limited parking at the park, so we may carpool from the school.

Picnic:

Please bring something to share with the group. We aren't going to make a big production, so simple picnic foods and drinks will do. If you bring drinks, a 6 pack or a couple 2 liters will be enough. If you bring food, enough for 2-4 people should suffice. There is a Stater Bros. right across the street from the park. You can wait and pick something up once we see what hasn't been brought if you want. Lynn and I will be bringing plates, cups and utensils. We will also bring frisbees and whatever else we can find.

Most likely the picnic will end around 5-ish, when it starts to get dark. Everyone is welcome, all ages, fan or not.

PS. In the event of bad weather, we will probably still walk around the school. But we will head for a Hometown Buffet or other restaurant nearby instead of the park.

I've really wanted to check the place out for years , and this is as close as I'll get for a while...Maybe when I get to go I'll be suited up for some Serenity photo-ops...

Would be a great place for a future Serenity LARP or another Browncoat convention...Maybe a 'Browncoat Ball' ! But for the morbid and creepifyin' history...
