Spread the Word to Non Sci-Fi Fans

Let's get Joss on Oprah. She might not be your
favorite talk show host, but she does reach a diverse group of viewers around the world. Joss would be a great guest, and it would help spread the word about Firefly/Serenity to people that don't normally watch sci-fi shows.

Oprah does like stories of people that are helping others. What better way to get others interested in the 'Verse than by telling them about all of the things that the Browncoats have been doing especially like raising over $65,000 for Equality Now.

Send several e-mails to Oprah.com during the months of December and January. We don't want their lines blocked, so it does not need to be on a specific day. It won't cost anything, and it will only take a few minutes because the notes need to be less than 2,000 characters.

2. "Inside Oprah.com"
3. "The Oprah Winfrey Show"
4. "Be on the Show"
5. "Regular Features"
6. "We want your show ideas!"

If you need ideas of some of the great charitable things that Browncoats have done, here are a few:

1. The June 23 - Equality Now event raised over $65,000.

2. Money was raised to purchase Firefly DVDs, and they were donated to the troops (Navy specifically).

3. Browncoats collected browncoats that were donated to the less fortunate.

4. There was a sizeable donation raised for Equality Now in Nathan's name.

5. AARG (Arial Ambulance rescue group) rescued a large prop from a scrap yard, and they are restoring it.

6. Browncoats helped raise enough money to buy a new van for www.niceguycomics.com .

7. Individual Browncoat groups have been doing DVD drives off and on donating sets to local libraries

8. Also, lest we forget, www.donetheimpossible.com

If you'd like to meet Joss or any of the BDHs, you can scroll down on the "Regular Features" list to the "Do you want to meet a hot celebrity?" You can fill one out for each person that you'd like to meet. You can fill in the form, and then if you're serious about meeting one of them, you can send in a tape.

It might be fun to send a link for a favorite fanvid at YouTube. We might make converts of the people that open the e-mails for the show.
