Hey Browncoats,

I’d like to introduce you to a little project I’ve been working called “The Big Damn Album”. It’s purpose is to provide a central location in which to host and store the photo’s from the various Browncoat events.

First off, The skin for the site is still under development but the main layout is finished. There will be few major changes, it’s mainly cosmetic work at this point. Also as it sits I have it setup as registered members only (No Guests). In order to use the site you’ll first have to register (Takes a few minutes and requires an email address, Standard stuff)

Second, I’ve tried to make the site as intuitive as possible, however I still recommend watching the short tutorial video (Two and half minutes, approx 3MB, and you’ll need flash player installed) before you get started. It outlies how to upload a file and how to make sure it gets in all the right albums. The video goes into more detail but basically you upload the files to your own personal albums (You can have as many personal albums as you’d like). Then during the upload process you add keywords (Called tags in flickr I believe) to the files and that sorts them into the public albums on the front pages. (There is a list of the keywords one for each album, that you can access during the upload process and they are fairly self explanatory). Also there is a featurethat allows you to upload a photo directly from another website. (Saving time for those who’ve already uploaded their photos somewhere else.

Third. So far the site is only setup for the Backup Bash aka B3(As it is the only event I’ve had the pleasure of attending), however if you’d like me to add any other events I’ll just need a few things. (The name of the events, the days (Mon tues etc.) it took place, any locations used and on which days, and any significant groups related to the event (Bands, BDH’s etc.)).

That should just about cover it. If you have any questions, concerns, or issues, just send me an email at bcorthell(at)gmail(dot)com , or just reply in this thread.
