Has anyone discussed the idea of an animated series like they did with Starship Troopers aka Roughnecks? Maybe the Firefly community can convince the creator to shop around the idea.

Perhaps it would help generate interest in bringing the show back, I believe the Star Trek had something similar happen !!!

This idea came up in a thread a while ago. I liked it so much, I drew some pictures about it.

Yes, I know these are all pipe dreams, but if there were a Firefly animated series I would want to see it done as hand-drawn animation with computer-assisted mecha rather than all-CG. Although I have nothing against CG (I own ever DVD Pixar has put out), on a TV budget every computer show I've seen, with the notable exception of Reboot, is a herky-jerk mess. The new Spider-Man/Howdy Doody show is just garish and unwatchable to me.

The old Star Trek cartoons were kind of hit-or-miss. Some had good writing, but all of them were hampered by Filmation's cheap and static lack-of-animation and crappy looped music.

Anyone here ever watch Kirby: Right Back At Ya! on Fox? It's a pretty craptacular show, but the animation is awesome. Basically, the characters are CG, but you don't even notice it at first because it looks hand-drawn.

I really like that idea but i doubt that would happen since they couldnt sell the animated Buffy series

... but maybe i´m wrong and soon the TV stations want to produce animated series again .. who knows *sigh* . Well i would watch ...
