If you're going to Comic-Con San Diego, July 19-23, here's some stuff you should know:

* FAN TABLE July 19-23
* SERENITY SCREENING Friday, July 21
* DONE THE IMPOSSIBLE SCREENING with Q&A, Saturday, July 22
[edited to add:]
* JOSS!!! SEE POSTS LATER IN THREAD [ end edit]

There's also tons of panels that have cross-appeal to the Browncoat community like the Battlestar Galactica panel and the Brisco County, Jr. panel. Check out the Comic-Con program at http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci06_prog_thu.php

------------------------------------------------------
FAN TABLE

The California Browncoats have returned with a fan table you should definitely make a point of visiting. It's in the Main Exhibit Hall at A11/A12. Same place as last year for those who went--all the way to the right as you enter, and then almost all the way back.

There will be a wide array of Browncoat merchandise (see http://www.californiabrowncoats.org/CABC/merchandise.htm ) Plus, not listed on the web page: Kaylee bear patches, "Wash is my co-pilot" license plate holders, bag of wash-a-saurs, dashboard Buddhas. The list includes Browncoat-produced goods, more officially type goods, plus related comics (including the Dark Horse 20th anniversary with a piece of art by Joss Whedon), CDs, DVDs and books--Oh... just go look at the list!

We are also running a charity fundraiser with a prize drawing you won't want to miss out on! Just donate and you could win! The grand prize was donated by Adam Baldwin: his personal screenplay of the movie "Serenity" signed by 8 of the 9 BDHs (Adam couldn't catch Alan Tudyk for a signature), AND the one and only Joss Whedon.

The list of prizes is long and varied with lots of excellent prizes related to "Firefly" and "Serenity" (big surprise), but also Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, King Kong, X-Men, Stargate, and much more. Check it out at http://www.californiabrowncoats.org/CABC/prizelist.htm

There will be smaller daily prize drawings, and then the main prize drawing will be July 23 on the last day of Comic-Con (need not be present to win). Get the details (deadlines, rules, and such) at
http://www.californiabrowncoats.org/CABC/faq.htm

This fundraiser benefits the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF), chosen by Adam Baldwin. This 4 star charity primarily gives college scholarship funds to surviving children of fallen Marines, federal law enforcement officers, and other military servicemen and women. Check them out at http://www.mclef.org

We will also have several authors and artists signing. The schedule from http://www.californiabrowncoats.org/CABC/schedule.htm is as follows:

11th Hour (Serenity RPG artist and Firefly guerilla artist):
Sat., July 22nd, 4:30 PM-5:30 PM.

Kevin J. Anderson (SF author):
Fri., July 21, 3:00 - 4:00 PM.

Nancy Holder (Buffy/Angel novels author):
Sat., July 22nd, 3:00 - 4:00 PM.

Jason Palmer (Firefly and Serenity art prints, booth 5497):
Fri., July 21, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, and
Sat., July 22, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore (SF authors):
Sun., July 23rd, 11 AM - 12 PM
We will have copies of one of their novels for sale (donated by Pocket Books) with all proceeds going to MC-LEF*.

----------------------------------------------
SERENITY SCREENING Friday, July 21

Manchester Grand Hyatt Randle Ballroom
Friday July 21, 7:00 pm: Serenity (2005) PG-13 (for sequences of intense violence and action, and some sexual references).

-----------------------------------------------
DONE THE IMPOSSIBLE SCREENING Saturday, July 22

"Our" documentary is being shown as an extra feature in the Comic-Con Independent (Heh) Film Festival. It's showing 8-10 pm on Saturday, 7/22 in Room 6B.

------------------------------------------------

Stay tuned also for a series of eBay auctions benefiting MC-LEF and Equality Now. Starting July 26, The California Browncoats will be auctioning off (in individual, sequential auctions) Adam Baldwin's personal collection of screenplays from every episode of "Firefly"--each of them is autographed by several cast and crew with details varying slightly. See http://www.californiabrowncoats.org/CABC/script.htm

August 2-9 we'll also be auctioning off Simon's medical disguise costume from "Serenity" (donated by Prop Store of London--THANK YOU!) in early August.

Thanks!

Yes indeed: Thank you so much Simon!

I will get to be at Comic-Con, but just for one day, and I'll be working the fan table most of the day. I'll get to do a spin around the hall, and maybe catch a glimpse of Joss :)

How 'bout you?
