Have you guys heard about this? Apparantly, some famous artist in New York made this statue of a naked Britney Spears giving birth to her kid while kneeling down on a bear skin rug. It's supposed to go on display next month and it's supposed to be a pro-life monument. What are your guys' thought on it.

Personally, I admire the intent, but dislike the representation. I'm a Fine Arts student (although I deal with the less pretentious medium of film), so I'm a big supporter of the arts and artists and all that. And if you want to make a piece about the miracle of birth, go right ahead.

But why fucking Britney Spears? Why choose the most famous no talented idiotic hack (she beats Paris Hilton by a few years) to be the representative of motherhood? Is this supposed to be ironic or straightforward? I dunno. The last thing that talentless bitch needs is a monument of her.

And who here actually feels sorry for the little bastard? Even if by some miracle he ends up like curing cancer or doing some major goodwill thing for humanity, he will never live it down. It'll be like..

"I cured cancer."
"Yeah, but isn't there a statue of your one hit wonder mom with her ass in the air pushing you out?"

Oh well.

The guy's M.O. is to make statues of famous people so that his "art" can piggyback off of their notoriety. Hence Britney was chosen essentially because she is tabloid fodder, not because she is seen as being an ideal role model as a mother.
