Mal or anyone else the family type?

So, I finally have settled on a name for this new baby. Thomas Malcolm Sherwood, and of course we'll call him Mal. It's such a great nickname, and I know someone else with a Thomas who calls their son Tommy anyhow.

This got me to thinking about any of the characters being the family type. It was amusing to picture Mal as a dad, but I don't really see him settling down enough for that to happen. I know Zoe had sort of said she wanted a child. I think Wash would make a great dad (definitely a goofy one) but of course that's a moot point now. Kaylee would be a good mom, she seems so loving and I bet she'd build the best contraptions to play with.

Anyone else have thoughts on it?

First off, good name!

Secondly, I agree with you about Mal not being the "settling down" type. Can't see kids running around his ship. Well... without him yelling at them anyway.

Out of all of them, Kaylee would make a fine Mom and I think Zoe would have been a fine Mama with Wash to help her raise a young one.. but now, I don't know what will happen.

Jayne, no for obvious reasons. Inara, no for obvious reasons. River, no for obvious reasons. IMHO. Simon as a Dad... just thinking it makes my head reel for him... he'd never have any fun at it. He'd be so worried all the time.
