Doesn't this article make you wonder about how executives work. The whole Firefly debacle being a case in point.
Executives hire Joss Whedon, with a proven track record, to write a show, then when they get something that is carefully thought out and planned with story arcs to keep fans interested, 'someone' with no track record for producing a good story wants to change things, cause they know better. AAAARRGGGHHHH the stupidity of it makes me just gag.
The Firefly phenomenon shows that good stories, and interesting characters will keep on keeping on. To paraphrase a line from 'Postcards from the edge' Instant gratficiation is too slow - what about the next minute and the next minute after that. Give me quality over quantity.
