Joss discusses focus characters within an ensemble, seeing the final version, and his take on Han Solo. It contains a couple trailer-level spoilers for plot.

Joss: "I was spending the whole time going 'That music hit is late, that explosion is wrong. I'm still finishing the movie in my head. People are saying 'The audience loved it' and I'm going 'Who..?' When I managed to step outside my 'tinkerer' it was pretty gratifying."

I spent four days with the cast and crew while they were in Edinburgh for reports in both Impact and Verbatim magazines. A great time to be a journalist AND a fan! A nicer group of down-to-earth people you couldn't meet. Interestingly, fellow journalists who I thought would HATE Serenity came out of screenings saying they were hugely impressed. So expect some good national reviews from the non-SF press.
