NEMESIS

Sorry, first post here...I was checking to see if 'Serenity' was the season finale...and I'm floored by the news of the cancelation...

But remember Babylon 5...it was axed quickly from Fox in it's first season if I remember correctly...and it jumped from TV station to station...(the end of season four was not aired in many areas)...until TNT snapped it up for it's 5th season.

A great show that transcended repeated cancelations...

Keep up the petetions and postcards...someone needs to snap up Firefly...

I sense a lot of potential in this show, as I did with B5...

Keep up the pressure...and a pox on Fox!!! (Joe Millionare indeed...)

B5 was in first-run syndication during the first season. It premiered as a two-hour movie first in syndication. It was never a FOX show, maybe in your area on a FOX affiliate.

Keep hoping for that Joss can bring it back!

Although it would be nice to bring back Firefly from the brink, in a way I hope its not by the same circumstances as Babylon 5.

Since the 5th year was initialy aborted and the story arc pretty much wraped up by the end of Year 4, when brought back on TNT the last year seemed stilted. Because of having to find new "filler" for the story arc and weak "been there, done that" characters, this season was the worst and much like its Crusade sequel, seemed unnecessary and added hardly anything to the established 4 seasons.

While I realize Firefly doesn't have the same problem of story arc to deal with that B5 did, I would rather see it die a premature death then sacrifice the quality stories and characterizations we have come to expect just to get it back on the air. If it can be pulled off, we can only hope Joss Weldon holds true to his concept and not do a "Rick Berman" just to keep it going.

BTW-as a side note: the conclusion about B5's affiliate airing was correct since the first 4 seasons were on a Fox station in my area too.
