As i watch S3; Anne, Faith, Hope, and Trick, The Wish- I can see Joss' storytellin' and directorial ability growing exponentially from the first season.
It's like I can see him at work on the film-makin' anvil, poundin' away hour after hour. It's now absolutly no wonder to me why Firefly is as great as it is, Joss paid major dueage.

More a Firefly fan (if that's possible) than ever Chrisisall

That's one reason why I get a little annoyed when, for instance, people comment how much better Firefly was the first season of Buffy. Seven years or so had passed - the writers and directors had time to finetune their craft. Certainly one would hope the writing would get better, not worse!
