Or are they antennas of some sort? I'm sure I don't remember those there in the show or movie...

I'm pretty sure those are sensors of some kind. *looks in the Firefly Companion Vol.1 for the Train Job pic of the front end of Serenity, just to be sure* Yep, they're on there.

As for the render, I shall quote Simon: "Son of a bitch!" I could totally live there. All I need to do is put my mailbox right about there.

And I can see why Mal had that look on his face at the dealership.
