And we want to hear if anybody else shows up!

Also, heard tell that the SoCal Browncoats have plans aplenty.

And we want pictures, videos. Please.

Don't worry...I'm going to try to write down as much as possible! And take lots of pics and such! We aren't allowed to video or audio record the panels *sigh* butI will try to put out the info.

So damn excited!

...for some of our plans.

I'm sitting at JFK in New York right now waiting for my connection to Burbank.

I'm sure many will give updates and post photos/clips.

Only my 2nd con experience. And my first was B3 2 years ago which because of its unique circumstances of organized mayhem (i.e. cancled con the day before opening; rallying of the fandom AND the show's stars and creators: Nathan, Alan, Adam, Morena, Ron, Christina Hendricks, Johnathan Woodward, Mark Sheppard,Michael Fairman, Tim Minnear; assocated little damn heroes: Greg Edmonson, Shawna Trpcic, Brett Matthews, the Bedlam Bards), I do not think will ever be matched. Standing in the rain with Nathan's arm over my shoulder for a photo, Alan's graciousness, Christiana's shyness, Mark's exuberance, Michael's playfulness, Ron's laugh, and Jonathan's hilarious wackiness...well, you can see why I suggested any B3 alumni get-together to share our experiences--it is just great stuff to remember.

Pre-Creation con, and consistent with reports from prior Creation Entertainment con attendees, I would say this convention is far more regimented and organzied--almost assembly line.
The image I have between the this and B3 is of an "Alliance" con versus an "Independents" con repsectively.
I do not wish to pre-judge, nor do I wish to have my expectations too high.
I suspect the SoCal get-togethers for Browncoats will be a highlight.

Respectfully,
History (Bob--Yarmouth, Maine)

HISTORY

Shiny!
Browncoats are gathering in preparation for the opening of the Con tomorrow.
Last evening ~15 of us had dinner led by SoCal president James and his lovely wife Lynn, and also Ido and Tabin. Scott of the Ariel Ambulance Rescue project fame joined us (he's still looking for interested people to help with the renovation--painting etc). Browncoats from Australia, Colorado, New Mexico, and a few of us from the East Coast shared stories of both recent and old cons, CSTS screenings, and other events [SoCal Disneyland Firefly scavenger hunts, paintball, et al], B3 stories, and just enjoyed the company over good food and drinks.
Today, I was pleasantly surprised to meet Greg Edmonson and his wife who were having lunch at the hotel, when my daughter and I returned from an inside tour of the Warner Brothers. We visited the Eastwood sound stage where Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino (of Ratatouille, Alias, MI III, and the upcoming Star Trek movie fame)was scoring the season finale of "Lost"--but that's another story. Greg shared he knew the soundstage well and had many an opportunity to work there. He was as warm and gracious of his time as he was during B3. Don't know if he'll actually be at the Con, however.Saw Jewell checking-in with her husband Matt Anderson, I believe. She looked great if a little tired from her travel. The Stargate con begins this evening.
Tonight, Tabin and Ido gathered us for another dinner at the Daily Grill. Over 20 Browncoats from across the world joined us, one couple dressed as Mal and Kaylee--quite accurately, another as a perfect Dr. Horrible. Tammy from the UK arrrived with friends, and her reported "last" event party (this will be the third in three years) is planned for tomorrow.
A great pre-con day.
As you all may appreciate, Browncoats are just good ffolken to be with.

Respectfully,
History

I'm here, got in Thursday afternoon. Today I went to little Tokio to do a little shopping, met up with an old friend, and went to a concert at the Troubadour. I haven't seen my friend since our classes 10 year reunion. If we would have gone this year would've been the 20th. We did a lot of catching up and went to the troubadour to see Schuyler(skyler) Fisk. She was amazing and after the show we got to meet her. Sweetest girl (next to kaylee) ever. her mom was there to, Sissy Spacek. my friend and I got our picures taken with both of them. It was a really good day. Looking forward to meeting some of my fellow browncoats this weekend.

just made first update here
http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=19&t=34896
havent posted pics yet. Didn't take many of new friends/fans. Distracted by the BDH's and the Gate stars. There was a newly married couple at the dessert party table I had but I don't do well with names and we didn't get the same table as planned for breakfast. There was also a possible new recuit from the SG side that was at our table. It was a blast and hope to get back that way soon.(finances and the car are telling me otherwise) but with this con I have met the whole crew, all the BDH's and can use a little break.

TALIE

Ok - it's been a lot of work and a bit of panic when I suddenly lost everything but I've got my event coverage up including a run down of all the Q&A panels (except Alexis which I wasn't able to attend), a summary of the event and a special podcast.

Feel free to check it out and leave comments there if you wish to respond to anything (feedback is always very much appreciated).

It's broken up into 4 sections because Wordpress had a fit trying to deal with the very very long post.

(I'm still working on my personal report)
