I got the Buffy Season 7 DVD's, and my DVD does not want to read the Discs. After opening and closing the disc reader several times, it will eventually read it about half of the time. I returned the set and got a new one and the same thing happened. I have never had a problem with reading discs before and I have all of the Whedon series. I was just wondering if anyone here was having a similar problem, knew what could be causing it or had any suggestions. Thanks

sorry to hear about your problem. must be frustrating, huh? it may be a compatibility problem between the discs and your player. have you tried playing the discs on someone else's dvd player by a different maker? i have a friend who had a lower end apex dvd player, and it wouldn't play anything with the universal logo (e.g., charlie's angels, the patriot), so he ended up getting another dvd player, which played the same movies--the same dvd discs--without problems.

I just watched disks 1-3 from Netflix and didn't have a problem. It might be your disks. You could try those disks on a friends player to see if it's your DVD player. If it isn't, you should try to exchange the disks for new ones at the store.

I've watched mine through 3 times so far with no problems, thankfully. You could have faulty disks, but since you've already exchanged them once, it could mean your dvd player is dying. My last DVD player starting acting the way you describe when it was dying. Will your dvd player play other dvd's?

We just got ours and it plays fine on our playstation2. So, it's either your DVD player, or you've been incredibly unlucky or both.

Along with everyone else, I suggest trying them on someone elses player and see what happens.
