Has anyone else thought of this about the scifi channel"could they be looking to unload the best shows so they can sell the network"?

It occured to me last night while try to sleep(or early this morning if you want to look at it that way)that if you wanted to raise money sell of something that could sell quite easly, but get the most out of what you alraedy got, so sell it off piece by piece . big buieness thinking has always looked at the bottom line for everything and that would include anyshow with a good rateing!!! (I hate big buieness )

But look at it MGM has made a habit of sending thier show to sci-fi chanel after three or four years and MGM is looking for a Cable network.
could we be seeing a advance of something really big going on and is sci-fi days numbered???

Actually, SciFi was sold recently, sort of. USA Networks did a complicated deal with Vivendi which basically transferred control of their cable networks, including SciFi. You're probably right in thinking that this had something to do with Farscape getting cancelled.

I still remember when Mystery Science Theater 3000 was cancelled after 10 seasons because it was "long in the tooth," according to someone from the USA Network who was changing things around Sci-Fi Network.

The USA Network actually did have a good show in G vs E but when it went to the Sci-Fi channel it lost a lot of its humor and charm and became a "serious" show in its second (and last) season. The title even changed to Good vs Evil. So I guess it works both ways.

Now I feel much better.

Well, I can't get as mad as you, even though the arrogant, greedy, stupid stuff they pull pisses me off as thoroughly as it pisses you off. My problem is that I also work for BB, and they give lots of cash in return for my time. So I guess I'm evil too!

Big Business, for many people, ends up being an inevitable thing. The thing that must be done is to do all that you can to subvert it while remaining comfortable, then doing just a little more than that.

As far as the way they screw with our TV viewing, it seems as though we are helpless pawns in this sad little game, and that the only action we can take is to tell all our friends to watch what we watch. Somebody out there must have a nielson box. Steal it!
