REKKA

Hi there, everyone. I just wanted to bring up this topic as I haven't been able to find a thread about it here yet.

Miracles was a wonderful show that used to air on ABC. After almost constant pre-emptions and poor advertising, the show was cancelled after only six out of thirteen episodes were shown. I used to have respect for the network, but not any more.

Even before Miracles was cancelled, a fan group sprang into existance with the sole purpose of keeping it on air...and now almost a year after its cancellation, we're still here, fighting away to get it back!

Let me use our little blurb about the show for those of you who were unfortunate enough to miss this great show.

ABOUT MIRACLES

Paul Callan (Skeet Ulrich), a troubled and lonely investigator of modern miracles, has just discovered that "we're not alone down here." And that this may not be such a good thing.

During an investigation into the mysterious healing powers of a young boy named Tommy Ferguson, Paul is nearly killed in an unexpected accident – and only rescued at the last minute by Tommy's healing powers. But in those moments near death, Paul looks over to see his own blood forming the words "God is now here." Tommy heals him, but dies as a result – and Paul is faced with a greater quest than he ever imagined.

As Paul tries to understand the ramifications of what has happened to him, he is approached by Alva Keel (Angus Macfadyen), an enigmatic former Harvard professor and current investigator of the paranormal – and who may have the key to Paul's vision in blood. The men join forces, each feeling that the other possesses the key to a larger mystery – the rapidly growing numbers of "strange occurrences" now happening all over the world. These occurrences – and the visions of others in near death circumstances (whose visions differ from Paul's by a single space, seeing instead the words "God is Nowhere") – may in fact point to a frightening and deadly "large event" already on the horizon.

With the help of former police officer Evelyn Santos (Marisa Ramirez), these investigators investigate the "miracles" and unexplained occurrences now happening all over the world – and band together to try to find a solution to the coming "darkness"...before it's too late.

I caught a few episodes of this show. The episode with the "Airplane" phenomenon really brought me to tears in the end. That's all I have to say about that. :)

I liked the show all right, I don't suppose they have a DVD collection ala Firefly's do they?

If not, mabey somebody could point out to ABC what a resounding success they had with the one season highly fan supported Firefly here.

Thanks for your responses! I'm glad to see that there are still fans out there that remember Miracles and still think ABC made a huge mistake by getting rid of it. We're always hoping that someone will see that a DVD release of the series is a good thing--I'm personally ready to buy 2 box sets if they ever release it; one to play and one to stay packaged all nice and neat on my shelf.

Anyway, if you're at all interested in Miracles or the continuing campaign to save it, please stop by MiraclesHQ ( www.miracleshq.com)!

Thanks again!
Rekka

Just watched, via VCD of canadian airings, Episodes 7, 8, & 9(all unaired in U.S.)

Looking for 10, 11, 12, 13(also unaired in U.S.)

The creators have expressed comfort with pirating their show, as there is virtually no hope of them ever seeing U.S. airwaves.

In the last four I understand that Paul visits the orphanage, has interactions with his former Vatican mentor, and #13 is a particularly good cliff-hanger.

There were prodigies and portents enough, One-Eye says. We must blame ourselves for misinterpreting them. One-Eye's handicap in no way impairs his marvelous hindsight.

This is one of my pet-peeves and I'm only going to touch a little bit on this. The people who believe that there is no chance of the show returning to the States end up doing NOTHING to possibly save the show, which certainly can happen if everyone bands together and works for a common goal. It's true we could use the help of every single Miracles fan in the campaign, but that doesn't mean there is absolutely no hope. There is always hope. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. We're going to be here fighting for the show whether other people believe there is hope or not. We could use your help and we welcome your help but don't call it quits before you've actually tried. These things take time and continued effort. This is a show that deserves taking the time and effort and believing that miracles can happen.

I'm just repeating the stated view of the show's creative team. I am at my work comp. now, so have no access to the article to which I'm refering. Promise to post ASAP.

But, as much as I loved Miracles, as a recovering catholic whose family is so deep in the Church that the females pull a bell chain in their teeth(if you have to ask you wouldn't understand, and would probably shun anybody who looked Irish Catholic)I would rather resurect Firefly.

We are in contact with the creators behind Miracles, specifically Richard Hatem, and they back us with everything they have for the continuing effort to save Miracles. I think past statements in a certain PR release can be taken the wrong way, giving people the wrong idea that the effort to save the show is a fruitless attempt. This is not the case if we have anything to say about it. I understand that this is a Firefly forum and my fav show takes a backseat to it; that's fine. I appreciate everyone's acceptance of me and my views on an unrelated television show.

Hey, great! I loved Miracles and would enjoy seeing the tale progress.

This is the story I've read. It does feature Miracles if you read it through.

Yeah, I kinda take that article with a grain of salt. I like the article for its mention of Miracles and what a horrible job ABC did with it and then finally cancelling it, but I also dislike it for giving people the wrong idea that we're all for piracy. The bottom line is this: the Save Miracles Team is not going anywhere and we're going to keep fighting for the show. With any luck, we'll open some big eyes along the way and show these networks that this is a show with promise, with hope. The fight is not over yet!

For those that have seen the episode "Battle at Shadow Ridge" and for those that have not, we have a surprise for you.

Recently we were able to get in contact with Steffani Brass, the young actress that played Renata, the little girl, who with her brother runs across the Ghost of the Civil War Soldier.

She was excited to give us an interview and allow us to use some of her personal pictures from the set.

Please check it out and share the link with other fans of Miracles.

Its showing in Canada on Vision TV Friday nights. This week is "The Letter".

I'll certainly give it a try.
