CYBERSNARK

Sci-Fi just posted the first webisode on their site:
http://www.scifi.com/pulse/

If you, like me, are being discriminated against. . . you're out of luck. The video's been pulled from Youtube.

Hopefully these'll be released on DVD at some point, for those of us who don't matter (i.e., who don't happen to live within the Yuunahted States of America[tm]).

Looks cool. Nice to see the Chief, Kally, and Tighe again.

It was ok. I suspect these are going to feel a lot more substantial once S3 airs and we can go back and revisit them as though they were 'deleted scenes' or something.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I agree. They seem a bit dry to me, kind of almost like deleted scenes. I think they will have a little more substance once S3 starts in October.

Thanks for the link Cybersnark.

I like them so far, although my laptop at home crashed so I can only watch them in work for the moment!! So annoying, as I'd love to download them and watch at ome on my own time.

I'm glad the Chief is in them, and I like the Duck character too, but it looks like we wont see Starbuck, Roslin, Anders or any of the female Cylons though, as Ron Moore posted a long list of credits for the webisodes on the scifi website and non of those people were mentioned.

Ah well, I'm not complaining, I think they serve as a nice teaser for season 3!!!

I for one cant wait - it sounds great and oh so dark!!

We're still flying.

That's not much.

It's enough.

Thanks for posting the links.

It's been pulled from YouTube as the copyright owners didn't give permission.

Don't they know what great viral marketing Youtube is?

Oh bother. I can't watch it on the proper site either - it's "not available from my location." How crap is that?!

I love the character of Col Tigh. It's nice to see he's not ready to go quietly into the night.

Good Hunting.

We make these an event here at work. We gather around the monitor and wtch in all manner of eagerness.

Keep checking back on YouTube - I say they'll keep popping up , or try the torrent sites, I haven't been able to myself as my home PC died, but I hear they've made their way around the web, luckily for those of us outside the US. ApparAntly you can't even watch the official website's video if you're in Puerto Rico, even if you get SciFi, and it's weird because up until recently I was able to view all of the Pulse content no problems, but now some of it is restricted.

Has anyone been able to watch that recap show on the pulse network? I haven't found it but even if I do I suspect it won't be viewable outside the US anyway - at least not officially ;)

My guess is that was to keep production costs down. So far we have not seen Cylons, Raiders, or other CGI effects either, again I assume that is because costs would start to soar if they had to put them into the episodes.

Yeah I'd say you're right, and I notice it's mainly the Canadian-based actors that feature in them, as they'd be in Vancouver between shooting the episodes anyway. I know Grace Park and Tricia Helfer are both Canadian, but I dont think they live there anymore when they're not working on BSG. The other actors, ie series regulars, were probably off doing other work anyway during the hiatus.

Also there was a lot of negotiations to be worked out re guilds and royalties etc. As far as I can tell, Universal/SciFi wanted to treat the webisodes as promotional material, so as not to cough up royalties with the actors and writers etc.. Hence the delay in releasing them until now. You can read about on zap2it and variety I think.

All of that legal stuff is in its infancy when it comes to webisodes - I think that's why Ron Moore posted a long list of credits on his blog, to give everyone who worked on them their due.

I for one don't mind if they keep the budget low, the story is engaging enough anyway. I have to say I was quite impressed with the production value of them so far, I think they'll hold up well on the DVDs - assuming they make it onto the Season 3 ones, I can't see why they wouldn't (although probably not the region 2 ones!!)

My guess is they were shot in the same way as the show is, on HD.

We're still flying.

Bumping because I've found a site that carries them.

http://galacticastation.com/episodes/webisodes/webisodes.html

Webisodes 1 and 2 are available for download, and there's a credits breakdown of who did what. Enjoy.

That site has a great list of audio interviews with the cast by the way, I recommend downloading them - the cast all seem very down-to-earth.

Episode # 3 is up on SciFi now. Pretty good episode, but they are so short. Leaves you wanting more. Then again I suppose it beats nothing.
