DECLAN

Awhile back a fellow Browncoat on this forum recommended the fantasy series "Roar". I watched it on SciFi channel reruns and enjoyed the show.

I'd give it a strong "B". The acting was good and I really liked the characters. However, the stories lacked a certain something and I kept waiting for the series to really take off. For me it never quite did. I still thought it was "good" but I was hoping for "great".

Well, now that I've damned the poor show by faint praise... Let get to the news.

I was cruising Amazon and saw that the series is to be released on DVD on 19 September 2006.

I hope this is helpful to other fans of the series.

TRISTAN

Yes, that does in fact make me a very happy camper! I liked the show quite a bit, and wish they'd had a chance to keep going with it.

I actually spotted that show on Irish TV a while back. I quite liked it, although the writing was just a little cliched at times. Interesting characters though, especially the Centurion (sp?)

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Ah yes. Yet another good show cancelled by Fox. Anyone seeing a trend here?

I liked the show. The characters were good, the storyline was good, but like Declan I kept waiting for it to really take off. It never quite seemed to. Not sure what exactly was lacking in the chemistry to give it that push to greatness.

I will pick it up on DVD if the price is right.

Oh, nooooooooooo, BrownCoat1, you've thrown a Fox bomb into the forum.

Much as I dislike Fox for cancelling our beloved Firefly, I found that much of the network television that I watched last year was Fox. The ridiculous but enjoyable, Prison Break; the fascist but thrilling, 24; and the simply superb, House.

And, less we forget that dumbness is not confined to network television, I just found out that Huff was cancelled by Showtime and that there will not be a third season.

Does that leave House as the last middle-aged hero/anti-hero?
