That was fast. Just saw the commercials on Friday on the Sci-Fi channel during the Star Gates. On sale now.

New trend? Maybe TV will realize that Sci-Fi shows are worth the risk. Even if it isn't a big enough hit for a big network, the good/great science fiction DVDs will make money forever!

Hmmm, I wonder who started this trend.

I think with one season shows that might not get a cult following, the new thinking is that they should recoup as much $ as they can fast, before the memory of the show fades...

I think Chrisisall

They released Nightstalker on DVD too (which only had about twelve episodes).

I hope this does turn into a trend. Nothing erks me more than to have my favorite show yanked in the middle of the season. Then again, we can all sympathize with that idea, can't we?

"Oooh, synchronizers!"

Well, they probably thought, "If that Whedon fella could do it..."

I find it humorous that 3 series that started at almost the same exact time - Surface (loved it), Threshold & Invasion - all pulled after the first season and then shipped to DVD. Maybe the execs want to see if any groups will rally behind one of 'em to try to make it into a motion picture.

I find it unlikely tho. Nevermind the fact that none of these shows had the calibur of story and acting that Firefly did.

I think I'll go juggle some gosslings.

Well, I feel kinda bad for Threshold. Much as I'd like to see a Surface sequel, we at least got closure and saw all the episodes aired. Threshold had a three-year outline, Threshold, Foothold, and Stranglehold. I would've dearly loved to see that cast and those writers pull it off.

Granted, compressing what's left into a movie or two wouldn't work right (these events would need a full year of buildup). I'm hoping for a novel trilogy; it'd be the perfect format.

They could even include the alien signal fractal as a watermark in the pages.
