Oh, that series is really nice, interesting & my Son loves it (I like it), but that's it. Any more, and I want either something new, or continuous to ep 6.

I hear you Big 'C'. My personal thoughts on the whole Star Wars and where it should go is to tell the whole Han Solo back story. He Chewbacca and Lando in their younger days engaging in all manner of piracy etc.

Would be cool.

What do ya'll think?

There are 5 stages to the grieving process:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
I have traveled through each step in regards to George-Lucas-who-is-dead-to-me.

Denial - After standing in a 32-hour line as a college student I finally watched Episode 1. I wanted desperately to believe it was genius. But alas, only the most mindless SW zealot would have thought it. Deep down I knew it was trash, but that didn't stop me from returning again and again to the theater in a vain effort to find the hidden glory of Lucas' vision. I spent much of the summer of 1999 in this manner.

Anger - Eventually my defense of SW turned to rage. People hated to be around me. I'd arrive to a D&D session or a board game night with friends and spoil it with unending streams of thought related to how betrayed I felt. I'm honestly astonished that my girlfriend (now wife) would later marry me after seeing me in that sorry state.

Bargaining - As Episode 2 approached I began to convince myself that Attack of the Clones would fix everything. Sure the superior Mandalorian storyline had been shucked aside, but I had spent plenty of time working out in my mind just how Lucas would fix it all and craft a tale that would fit perfectly into the narrative of 4,5,& 6.

Depression - After ep 2 I became very sad when the subject of Star Wars came up. I felt like a pet dog of many years had died.

Acceptance - One day I woke up and realized that I didn't give a shit about SW anymore. Then a few months later I saw Firefly for the 1st time and felt my appreciation for good storytelling trancend to another level. I watched episode III in 2005 and felt nothing for it, good or bad. I do not own any SW media with the exception of a bootlegged copy of the ORGINAL film cuts from 1977, 1980, and 1983. Occasionally I'll pop Empire into the DVD player and remember those days from my long lost childhood.

As far as what Lucas does nowadays, I don't know nor do I care.

ZEEK

It's so true. I had to grieve the lose of an idol.

In high school speech class the only time I almost went over in length on a speech is when I gave a speech about Lucas.

The worst sunburn I ever got was from the day I skipped school to wait in line for Episode I tickets. Sorta difficult to pull off the "I was sick yesterday" story when you have a massive sun burn.

When I got back from the midnight showing my mom asked if it was everything I expected. I was like "weeeeeeell there was a cool lightsaber fight". That was the best I could come up with.
