Favorite plot/character TYPES

Okay, now we've discussed our favorite movie characters, but are there any traits or roles that you find interesting?

For example, I have a fascination with:

idealistic warriors/crusaders
characters with mysterious/hidden pasts
plot-altering characters (eg death dealers like Davy Jones in POTC2)
somewhat tragic characters
characters who evolve dramatically
characters who disappear in the beginning, but return before the end and change the plot's course.

For plot types, I like the plots of many spy or heist movies in which someone messes with someone like the government, and then weird things start happening to them mysteriously.

I am evil, I am sly, and if you get eaten no one will cry.
