George Lucas announced today that the new remake of his classic 1977 movie "Star Wars" will go "totally retro" with new state of the art optical & model FX developed at Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, CA. "Our Visual Effects Department has surpassed themselves in test footage, and basically made CGI a thing of the past", he said in the statement.
The new movie will star Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, Kristin Kreuk as Princess Leia, Nathan Fillion as Han Solo, and Justin Bieber as Luke Skywalker, with Robert Zemeckis directing.
Principle photography begins June 9th.

Your "Israel nukes Iran!" headline a couple years ago was more believable.

And yet...

Sadly, what's more likely: Lucas makes the piece of crap you just described, or they release the 1995 THX widescreen version of the OT on DVD?

Never tell me the odds!

Y'know, while I mostly like the corrections/changes made to Empire & Jedi, I find myself really wanting an original copy of SW on DVD...

There was a release of the untouched versions of the original trilogy on DVD. I got it when it came out because some of the changes made were over favorite scenes of mine.

It's so nice to see the original theatrical release when I want to.

There might still be copies out there, can't be sure of how much they will cost, though.
